Nyst Legal is extremely proud to announce that Jonathan Nyst has been named by Lawyers Weekly as Australia’s top young criminal lawyer under the age of 30.

Last Friday, Lawyers Weekly Australia held its 10th annual 30 Under 30 Awards ceremony at a gala black-tie dinner at the Star Casino in Sydney.

The competition, which this year fielded more entries than ever before, is the premier national event showcasing Australia’s rising stars in the legal services sector, and celebrating their outstanding achievements on the national stage. The finalist list in the Criminal Law category featured 10 highly-accomplished young lawyers from firms located throughout Australia, including Jonathan, who has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Criminal Law category for the past three years.

In this – his final year as an under-30 – he was awarded the top prize in his nominated field, as adjudged by a 26-person panel comprising many of Australia’s leading legal practitioners, acknowledging his outstanding experience, contribution, and accomplishments in the field of Criminal Law.

Jonathan was thrilled to win the award, and acknowledged the excellent standard of professionalism, effort and expertise demonstrated by all nominees across the entire competition.

Nyst Legal takes this opportunity to heartily congratulate Jonathan on this remarkable achievement. In our admittedly-biased opinion, the stellar award could not have gone to a more deserving young lawyer.
