Nicola Ellis

Nicola is a Gold Coast local who completed her Bachelor of Laws at Griffith University and her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Bond University. She joined Nyst Legal in 2018 and was admitted to practice as a solicitor in Queensland in February 2019. She has also been admitted to the High Court of Australia. Nicola is an integral part of our corporate, commercial and property law team and also works closely with Managing Director Chris Nyst in the firm’s family law division.

Since her Admission, Nicola has gained valuable experience practicing in various commercial and property law matters, along with the various facets of family law. Nicola has developed a particular interest in commercial real estate transactions and residential developments and complex financial settlements. She aims to deliver a tailored and commercial approach and resolves matters efficiently without unnecessary costs or stress to her clients.

Advising a developer on and effecting contemporaneous purchase settlements for development of a 31 whole-floor beachfront site in Surfers Paradise, and assisting with amalgamation of the lots and winding-up of the body corporate.

Preparation of various documents including put and call options, deed of priorities, security agreements (mortgages and fixed and floating charges, along with registration of mortgages with the Titles Office and security interests on the PPSR), for one of the most prominent property developers and businessman in Australia.

Provided advice and effected settlement for heritage listed commercial hotel site in Brisbane.
